My Lap with "The Man"

OK, admit it, from the title, you think this is a post about Armstrong.

Well, it is not. I drove up to Snowbird tonight to ride the new course before racing tomorrow. Ran into Tim H and rode two laps with him, regularly stopping to let riders on Specialized bikes come by, who were riding the other way.

Apparently Specialized has a large employee gathering going on up there, and who should ride by, but Deadly Nedly himself. He was riding a 29er Epic, so I asked him about the bike, and we chatted about the SRAM XX and 29er stuff as we rode the rest of the lap. He was probably annoyed that he didn't just get to ride off in peace, but he pretended not to mind.

I asked him if he is racing tomorrow, and he said, "thinking about it", so anyone like me who still watches their 1990 World Championship video occationally might get a chance to get smoked by a 50 year old and wonder what racing against him was like 20 years ago.
