Since people ask...
(f). Expert: A mountain bike racing category where racing skills, strength and stamina have reached an exceptional level; racing is very competitive
(g). Semi-Pro: A mountain bike racing category that allows riders to fine tune their racing stamina and technical skills before entering the Professional ranks.
(h). Pro: the highest category for both men and women in mountain bike racing. All MTB PRO racers must purchase an International License.

Problem with it is that while there is little reason or desire for us in the 'masters' expert classes to move up, it creates problems in the lower categories. Sport riders don't wanna move up cause they see how fast the category is, therefore beginner riders don't wanna move up, in the end it could have the effect of less participants. Since the rules are only loosely enforced, only the riders can make the right choice, I can tell you, winning because all you competition moved up is very unsatisfying.
If they are calling you a sandbagger, who cares, jealousy is powerful, isn't it.
The more i think about it the more i realize people just like to complain
Cause if i always finish 5th and the 4 in front of me move up, i will always finish 1st and then everyone will be complaining about me moving up, soon the pro field will have like 200 racers and the other classes will be empty. Jones and Gillespie will lap 95% of the field at 5 mile pass and everyone will get mad and quit racing. Ed will end up living at Pioneer park and i will end up 350 pounds, stuck in my basement.
Nope, don't move up, my health can't handle it.
Seriously though, while we take this 'hobby' quite serious, seems some people take themselves too serious, cause in the grand scheme of things a ribbon and a gift certificate at a ICUP race means, well, not so much.
