Midweek MTB?

Kim and Kait spent this week in Alaska with Ryan, Heather and their family. They had a good time, saw lots of eagles, ate moose meat, loved the smell of the forest there, etc. They flew back yesterday, and it is great to have them home again.

Midweek MTB?

This week felt like a less biking week. Tuesday Ian and I were excited to ride the Corner Canyon Midweek Race, but it did not turn out so well.

Since it is so close to home, my plan was for us to ride our bikes over there, which we did, but Ian was late getting home from the temple with the youth and I didn't know whether he would make it home, so left some entry money for him and rode over myself. For me everything was on track, but then my chain broke 5 seconds after the start. Race over for me.

It turned out Ian had made it, but they would not let him sign up without an adult, so he came home upset. Race over for Ian.

RC Cars

Saturday Ian, Tanner, and I entered an RC car race. The twins went with us since Kim was out of town. Three heats and a 'main'. We raced novice and there was only six of us so the heats didn't really matter for anything, but they were fun. Ian's battery kept falling out. I think we got that fixed. Tanner's truck broke in the main. There was a big double-jump that I couldn't reliably clear, but otherwise had no problems. It was a fun evening and a nice way to spend the evening with the kids.
